Governor Charms Upgrade Priority Guide

Once you reach Town Center level 25 in Kingshot, you unlock the ability to craft Governor Charms. These are a great way to boost your power in the game.

Unlike Governor Gear, which increases Attack and Defense, Governor Charms increase Lethality and Health—the two most important stats in the game. That makes Charms a better investment for growing your overall strength.

Upgrade Priority Order

When crafting or upgrading Governor Charms, it’s important to follow the right order:

  1. Infantry
  2. Archers
  3. Cavalry

This is the same order I suggested in my Governor Gear Priority Guide.

Why Infantry Comes First

Infantry are your frontline troops. They take most of the hits during both attacks and defenses.

Common formations:

  • Attack: 50% Infantry, 30% Archers, 20% Cavalry
  • Defense: 60% Infantry, 20% Archers, 20% Cavalry

Since Infantry absorb most of the damage, they help keep your other troops alive so they can do their job—dealing damage. Because Governor Charms boost Health and Lethality, upgrading Infantry Charms should always be your first step.

Archers Are Your Main Damage Dealers

Once your Infantry Charms are upgraded, focus on Archers. They do most of the damage in battles, so improving their Health and Lethality is your second priority.

Cavalry Comes Last

Cavalry are still useful, but they’re usually less exposed in battles and make up the smallest portion of your army. That’s why they’re the last priority when it comes to Charm upgrades.

Why You Should Jump from Charm Level 3 to 5

When upgrading Governor Charms, maintain balanced levels except when going from level 3 to 5. This is why:

Optimal Boost: Level 3 → 5

  • Upgrading from level 3 → 4 gives +3% boost in Lethality and Health.
  • Upgrading from level 4 → 5 gives +6% boost.
  • So going directly from level 3 → 5 gives a +9% boost for:
    • 300 Charm Designs
    • 180 Charm Guides

But to get the same +9% boost by upgrading three charms from level 3 → 4, you’ll need:

  • 300 Charm Designs
  • 240 Charm Guides
So you spend 60 more Charm Guides for the same stat boost.

Recommended Strategy:

  1. Upgrade one Infantry charm from level 3 → 5.
  2. Then one Archer charm from level 3 → 5.
  3. Then one Cavalry charm from level 3 → 5.
  4. Repeat this process until you have all 18 charms (6 per troop type) at level 5.

This gives a more efficient stat boost with fewer Charm Guides.

For all other levels (e.g., 1–3 or 5+), keep your charm levels uniform to avoid weak spots that enemies can exploit during battles.
